It is getting hotter here in Croatia. During the week our tennis players were not only competing among each other but also againstunbearable heat. It was important for them to stays hydrated.

Your water needs vary depending on your weight and body type, but in general 2 to 4 litres for active adults is recommended water intake. You will have to consume a higher amount of water if you exercise regularly because your muscles require more H2O to function properly and maintain mass.

In the summer it is important to replenish the water we lose when we sweat to prevent dehydration. Go advice is to drink water even before you actually feel thirsty. For a person that weights 80 kg, dietitians recommend drinking 2,7 l of water. Some experts recommend 2,7 l of water for female adults, and 3,7 for male adults. If you are a big coffee drinker, as we are, you know that water goes perfectly with this dark hot beverage. You should always drink water with coffer to prevent dehydration. Coffee is a diuretic (something that dehydrates your body) so in the morning before coffee always dring water, and with every cup of coffee, you should dring at least two cups of water to balance out your organism. Coffee is quite acidic and can irritate your stomach if it’s the first thing you have in the morning. Drinking water with your coffee also eliminates caffeine crash.
