We can’t force you to do anything, but we recommend going to Xi Yue Hui in Sunset Park with at least 10 people. That way, you can get a private room downstairs, where you can enjoy your all-you-can-eat seafood hot pot while doing karaoke, and nobody except your nine friends will be able to hear you. The bi-level restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat menu for $60 per person—BYOB is an extra $30 for the whole party.
It’s definitely a quantity over quality situation, but it’s a bountiful spread, with platters of every type of meat and seafood imaginable quickly piling up around the bubbling pots on your table.Once you actually figure out how the karaoke interface works, you’ll be tossing clams into your broth (get the spicy version) and preparing for your first song. At some point an employee in a cartoon costume might pop in to do a little dance, and it’s all part of the contained chaos.
