1. Food must be taken after washing both hands, both legs and mouth-all these five parts of the body. Those who do this have longevity.

2. Take food in wet feet, but do not sleep in wet feet. Those who take food with wet feet, they achieve longevity.

3. Food must not be taken in dry feet and in dark room.

4. There are only two times-morning and night- which are prescribed in sacred book as food time. In between these two periods, there is the absence of food consumption prescription. Those who follow this rule, they get the benefit of fasting.

5. People's first morsel of food is for gods, second morsel is for themselves, third morsel is for spirits and forth one is for devils.

6. Food must not be taken in late evening.

7. Householders first must offer the food to gods, saints, guests, forefathers and house hold gods then they should take food.

8. Food must be taken facing the east or the north. Long life is achieved if food is taken facing the east, devil spirit is achieved if food is taken facing the south, the people get sickness if food is taken facing the west, and longevity and wealth are gained if food is taken facing the north.

9. Food must be eaten in peace.

10. Without bath if food is taken that is like eating faeces. Those who eat without pray they eat pus and blood. Those, who eat without offering to fire, eat insects. Those, who eat without offering to gods and guests, drink alcohol. Those who eat impure food, they drink urine. Those, who eat before child, and senior, eat faeces. The people who eat without donation is poison consumer.

11. We can consume sugarcane, water, milk, root, betel-leaf, fruit and herbs without bath. After consuming these food items also bath, donation, worship, libation can be done.

12. We should not eat the food in one clothe. Also do not take food covering entire body.

13. Those who eat covering head, facing the south, putting on shoes, and without washing the legs, the evil spirit eats the food and all the food is considered devilish.

14. Food items should not be eaten keeping on lap.

15. Food should not be eaten in broken dish. Those, who eat in broken dish, can purify themselves through fasting named chandrayan.

16. Do not take food and water sitting on bed, do not take food keeping on palm. And also do not eat food in yoga posture.

17. Food should not be taken exactly at midnight, noon, after indigestion, after putting on wet clothes, sitting on others' place, while sleeping, broken utensils, keeping on earth and hand.

18. Food should not be taken neither in dark nor under the sky nor in the temple. Food should not be eaten in one clothe, in vehicle or sitting on bed, without putting off the shoes. Also we should not eat food while laughing and crying.

19. Those who eat during solar and lunar eclipses the more grains they eat, the years they reside in the hell named aruntud. Then they suffer from scarlet fever. After that they become sick, blind, and toothless.

20. Never take food without bath, without sitting, being unmindful, sitting on bed or laying, sitting merely on earth, while speaking, with one clothe, and without offering to them who are looking at the food.

21. Eaten food neither to be given nor eaten by self. Do not eat eaten food by others or yourself. Do not eat more than appetite between morning and evening and after food do not go anywhere without washing the face.

22. Do not take food without rest after being extremely exhausted. If the tired people take food or water, they suffer from fever or vomiting.

23. Food should not be taken in case of nature call.

24. We should not eat the food offered to who do not have love, who are unvirtuous, and hungry servant.

25. Food should be taken in sitting posture. Never take food motion.

26. Do not eat in one dish with others. Do not take food touched by women in their menstruation. Never eat food without offering to them who are looking at the food.

27. The food which is left, touched by leg, or crossed over should be thrown evil.

28. Those who eat in the dish used by woman, eat food left by woman, and eat with woman, they are supposed to be consuming alcohol.

29. Food should not be eaten in the leaves of these trees-fig, pipal, shallow-wort, melon, tinduk kachnar and saskrit name karanj.

30. Those who eat food in pure brass dish alone, they possess four things- longevity, wisdom, fame and strength. But on Sundays food should not be eaten in brass dish.

31. Those who take food in uncomfortable posture, covering half body, and blow the steam of hot food, it can be purified with fasting called chandranarayan.

32. Eating food and drinking milk with left hand is like drinking alcohol.

33. Food should not be eaten until the noise of fight, grinding mill, and mortal is heard.

34. While drinking water, rinsing and eating sound should not be produced. If people produce sound, they suffer the sin of drinking alcohol and they reside in the hell.

35. Served food should not criticized. Whether the food is testy or not, we should eat loving it. The food which is spoken ill, devil eats it.

36. Grain should be offered pray and should be eaten without criticism. After receiving the food, we have to be happy and cheerful. Happily eaten food gives strength and fertility. Whereas the food eaten after criticized ruins both-strength and fertility.

37. During jealousy, fear, anger, greed, illness, wretchedness and clash, whatever the food people eat that is not digested easily. So, humans must avoid those tempers. Rather they should take food being peaceful and happy.

38. Those who eat half eaten sweetmeat and fruit and eat salt directly, they are beef consumers.

39. Never eat left food again.

40. While eating, be quiet.

41. Take sweet item before food, salty and sour during food. After food consumption, eat sour and bitter items.

42. First take juicy food, in between take solid item and finally take liquid food again. This process never causes people powerless and sick.

43. The ascetics should eat food in eight morsels, Banaprastha, retired ones, should take food in sixteen morsels, householders should take food in thirty two morsels. For bramhachari, students ones, there is no any limit of morsels.

44. Take appropriate morsel at once. Morsel which being bigger in size remains is called leftover. Remaining food is considered inedible. If such food is eaten, people should go for chandrayan fasting. Those who eat left food, they have to follow chandrayan or prajapatya fasting.

45. Without offering to gods and forefathers, pudding, and other food items should not be eaten. To offer the gods and forefathers, the food should be made especially for them.

46. Humans always eat the food which is useful, limited, pure, and juicy, heart pleasing, smooth, pleasant looking, and warm.

47. People like food for longevity, goodness, strength, health, happiness, heart strengthening, juicy and oily food.

Passionate people like extreme bitter, sour, salty, hot, chilly, dry, and feverish heat cause sorrow, mourning and disease.

Wicked people are fond of rotten, juiceless, bad odour, stale, and leftover and highly unholy food like meat, fish, eggs etc.

48. Except honey, water, milk, curd, pudding and meal, the food which is served should not be eaten completely.

49. Sour curd should not be taken at the end of food.

50. We should not eat full stomach food in dinner.

51. Excessive food consumption kills health, longevity, heavenly bliss and sacred deed and invites condemn. So, we should quit eating excessive food.

52. Those who take less food they are blessed with six qualities- health, longevity, strength, off spring will be nice and people will not comment the children saying ' The baby will not eat much.

53. Hands and legs should be washed properly, rinsing should be done, sit in holy and surrounded place, eat served food with respect, avoid lust, anger, revenge, greed and obsession, put the food touching with all the fingers without producing any single word.
