Diet Recipe Smoothie From Our Home to Yours!

Looking for healthy smoothie recipes that are both easy and quick to make? We have found smoothies or protein shakes to be really effectivein helping with weight loss and staying healthy. There are so many different types you can make, please share your favoriterecipes as well.

When you are on a diet, smoothie recipe drinks can be a great meal replacement to help you loseweight...especially around your abs. However, it needs to actually be a replacement of a meal or one of 5-6 smaller meals a day to work.If you just add it to what you're already eating, then consider it more like dessert!

Tips for Making Healthy Smoothie Recipes...

Here are a few tips we've learned from trying out different healthy smoothie recipes on our own.

  1. Freeze fresh fruit that is in season to save money. Frozen fruit can be expensive, so we've found this to work well.My favorite fruit to add to smoothies is frozen bananas. What I do, is peel the banana and break it into smaller chunks. Then, I freeze thosechunks. It sure makes my smoothies more frothy and a much better consistency!
  2. Invest in a good blender. We use a Magic Bulletand have really liked it. The best part is that my husband can make his smoothie and then I can make mine without needing to clean out theblender first. I think you'll give up on trying to drink smoothies if your blender doesn't work well....it can get frustrating to have icechunks floating around in your drink!
  3. If you add protein powder to your smoothie, lookat the ingredient list and choose one that is low in sugar. Or try adding something like orange fiber instead.

Banana Peanut Butter Shake

This is my personal favorite!

One Scoopof Vanilla Protein Powder
2/3 cup of water or milk
1 banana
1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
4-6 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.

Orange Banana Shake

This tastes like an "Orange Julius" to me

One scoop of orange fiber shake
1 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1 banana
7 ounces of water or milk
4-6 ice cubes

Combineall ingredients and blend until smooth.
