Ingress: Vi følger den unge jenten Wen, som er på hytteferie med sine foreldre. En dag hun er ute å leker, treffer hun på en muskuløs mann, ved navn Leonard, som er flink til å fange gresshopper. Etter at de leker litt sammen, går leken over til alvor. Leonard tar med seg tre andre venner som kommer på besøk til hytten og tar foreldrene til Wen til fange i hytten. | Anmeldelse: Filmen bygger på romanen ‘The Cabin at the End of the World’ fra 2018 av Paul Tremblay. Filmversjonen begynner veldig rolig. Wen leker i gresset og samler gresshopper. Plutselig treffer hun på Leonard som er en snill og mild mann. Han sier at de må gjøre noe med fedrene hennes. Noe som er det beste for verden. De har kuttet telefonlinjen og annen kommunikasjon med omverdenen annet enn TV-en. Derfra og inn har filmen noen småtvister. Samtidig som dette er veldig rett frem. Jeg var og er stor fan av M. Night Shyamalan og synes det alltid er gøy når han kommer med ny film. Shyamalan hadde en kickstarter i sin karriere med filmen Den sjette sansen og har siden det laget en del thrillere og andre filmer med vekslende hell. Dette er også en film som plasserer seg fint inn i hans filmografi. Det er en veldig enkel film til ham å være, men den har absolutt sine kvaliteter. Konseptet for filmen er litt småkult. Alt tar plass i den isolerte hytten kun med TV som kan vise hva verden omkring dem opplever. Familien som blir tatt til fange får beskjed om å ofre en i gruppen sin mot at verden ikke skal gå under. Dette er bygget opp som et skrekkdrama med litt mystisk vri og er en såkalt ‘home invasion’-film. Alt foregår på et sted og filmen er god på å skape spenning og engasjement gjennom en enkel oppbygning. Filmen er ikke utpreget visuelt flott, men gjør sakene sine bra i all sin rendyrkethet. Det overnaturlige er på plass og vi får et oppfinnsomt plott som Shyamalan er god på å lage. Skuespillerprestasjonene er også med på å bygge opp rundt resultatet og gjør dette veldig spesielt å se. Det er en interessant vri på filmen som gjør at vi tenker på hvordan dette vil ende. Vi begynner å lure på om de fire som tar dem til fange er vel bevart. Gjennom filmen får vi se og oppleve mer og mer rundt de fire og hvem de er og hva de representerer. Det er to mulige slu*tter på filmen og det er jo også litt av begrensningen i filmen. Enten så er de ikke hva de utgir seg å være eller så er det faktisk sant det de fire kommer med.
