An easy and refreshing Pimm’s Cup recipe that’s perfect for a summer day!
We’re taking it back to 1823 with this refreshing Pimm’s Cup recipe! This co*cktail was served in an oyster bar in London and drinking it definitely conjures up images of happy patrons drinking this delicious libation.
It’s light, fruity flavors are perfect for sipping on a sunny spring or summer day. This Pimm’s Cup recipe has a citrus, cucumber, gin, simple syrup and of course, the famous Pimm’s No. 1 liquor!
In the United States, we have the Mint Julep for the Kentucky Derby. In the UK, they have the Pimm’s Cup for Wimbledon.
The first Pimm’s bar at Wimbledon openedin 1971, and ever since, it’s been a tradition to have a glass (or two) while watching the pro tennis players rally.
Whether you’ve had one before or not, you might have some questions. We’re here to answer them all!
I really liketheirquirkywebsite too! There are a few different ways to make a Pimm’s Cup co*cktail, but below is my favorite!
Edible Flowers
We use edible flowers in many of our recipes. I like to grow them in pots so I always have them on hand. See how to grow your own potted edible garden to use in co*cktails, salads and for desserts!

What Does Pimm’s Cup Taste Like?
Pimm’s Cup is a light and refreshing drink, as it has lots of herbs, as well as fresh fruits and cucumber. It’s pretty sweet, so it’s similar to other co*cktails.
But since Pimm’s itself is only 25% alcohol by volume and you’re mixing it with other liquids, it’s not a very strong drink. So if you’re not a fan of drinks that have an alcohol aftertaste, then this is it for you!
What Kind of Liquor Is Pimm’s Cup?
No. 1 is made from gin. Others are made fromScotch whisky, brandy, rum, rye whiskey, vodka, tequila, absinthe, bourbon, and other spirits. When it comes to the liquor in Pimm’s Cup, the sky’s the limit!
What Flavor Is Pimm’s?
Since Pimm’s is made with caramelized oranges, we’d say that’s a predominant flavor. The bitter herbs also shine through, but not in an unpleasant way. They give just the perfect amount of bite to your drink.
Can You Buy Pimm’s in America?
Pimm’s is an English drink, but this doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get in America.
Yes, it’s true that it may be tough to find, as it won’t be stocked in every liquor store. You may have better luck with more upscale liquor stores in larger metropolitan areas though.
Even if the stores you visit don’t stock it, you may get lucky. They might just be able to special order it for you!
